LADIES AUXILIARY
Spring has sprung and May is here - a very important month for the Aux. time to distribute Poppies. Our Poppy Days are Friday, May 11th and Saturday, May 12th, so please volunteer 2 hours of your time to help with this worthy cause. A signup sheet will be posted in the lounge and you can choose the day, time and location. ALL poppy monies collected go only to veterans and their families. This past year we have made substantial donations to the USO; the Fisher House in West Palm (which provides housing to families of seriously or terminally ill patients at the VA Hospital); and to "Wounded Warriors" (an organization that sends families of soldiers, wounded or killed in combat operations, to Disney or other vacation spots around the U.S.).
A big thanks you to Mary Jacobs and Diane Nolf for making the patriotic tablemats to be used for future Post functions. Also, many thanks to Diane for sewing hundreds of bibs (over the years) that are sent to the V A Hospitals in Florida. Used bath towels are always needed for this project ... please help us collect them!
The lucky winner of the St. Pat's Day "Basket of Cheer" was Mike Welby and the winner of the smaller basket was Tony Villanucci.
Honor our vets this month by wearing the traditional poppy and attending the Memorial Day Service.
