            We had our final nomination of officers at our May 10th meeting:

            The following members will run unopposed;

                        Sgt. At Arms             - Bob Blume

                        Chaplin                        - Dave McAteer

                        Historian                    - Larry Boschee

                        Finance Officer      - Charles Peters

            The Post Service Officer, Adjutant and Judge Advocate are appointed by the new Commander.

            Nomination for the Post Executive Committee are as follows: Bob Marley, Wally Mello, Andy Reric, Bruce Blumenstein, Vinnie Finn, Bob Dymerski and Ed McNay.

            Voting will take place on June 14th in the Post Lounge from 9am to 7pm after which the ballot box will be taken upstairs and the ballots will be counted at our Post Meeting.

            Flag Day is Thursday June 14th but we will hold our Flag Disposal Ceremony on Sat. June 16th at 11 am. The Canteen will be temporarily closed during the ceremony.

            I would like to thank everyone who helped out on our Golf Tournament. You did an outstanding job and because of your good work, we're going to let you do it again next year. We were able to raise approximately $4500.00 for the Legion Children and Youth Programs.

            Speaking of fund raising, I would like to thank the ladies who run the monthly Tuesday night Texas Hold Um Tournament's for raising approximately $1700.00 for the Children and Youth Programs. Ata girls to Keri and Blanca. The next Tournament is June 19th at 7pm. Sign up sheet in the Lounge.

            I enjoyed being your Commander this year and I hope YOU’RE happy with the direction in which the Post is heading. Thank you to all the Officers and Executive Committeeman for all your hard work and dedication for making Post 271 the best Post in the Southern Area.
