would like to thank the Post Color Guard for the meal they put out on Memorial
Day. A special Atta-Boy to Capt. of the Guard, Norm Fickett, for a job well
done.
On July 4th, the Sea Cadets will put on a Bar-B-Que at the Post. All-you-can
eat for $7.00 Please show your support by attending this event.
The Legion Convention is scheduled for July 5th, 6th, 7th &
8th. There will be no luncheon July 6th, no
dinner on July 7th or Breakfast on Sunday July 8th, as the Chef will be
attending the Convention.
New tickets will be on sale for the 300 club on Saturday July 21st at the 300
Club Party.
I would like to thank everyone for re-electing me as your Commander of Post
271 for one more year. I can assure you that myself and the new board of
officers will make our post the best in the Southern Area again this year.
I would like to congratulate Becky O'Berry for being elected as President of
the Ladies Auxiliary this year and I am looking forward to working with her.
My continued support goes out to our SAL Commander (Newsletter Editor) George
Rifenburg as being uncontested for the next year as Commander of our Sons of
the American Legion here at 271. He has been endorsed by our Post to run for
11th District Commander SAL Detachment of Florida, at the convention.
