Legionnaires:
Well
the holiday season is behind us and now we can look forward to paying it off
the rest of the year.
Our
Christmas Party went over very well and everyone had a great time.
The food was outstanding as usual.
A special thanks to Santa for making that long trip from the North Pole
to be with his Legion family.
Our
Sunday night Bingo Committee needs some help.
If you can donate your time to help for one or more nights please call
me at the Post.
Remember
to make reservations for our Saturday night dinners.
We had to turn several people away because they didn’t call in
advance.
On another note, one of our local heroes, 21 year old Army Spec. Kevin Hardin’s family will receive a $500.00 check in his behalf from our Post as a small token of our appreciation for his service. Kevin was wounded in Iraq on September 30th and has undergone 14 surgeries to repair his shattered bones and torn muscles, reconstruct an eyelid and remove the many pieces of shrapnel lodged throughout his body. Some, like the roughly half-dozen pieces in his brain, may never come out. Kevin is recuperating at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Despite the dramatic turn his life has taken over the past three months, Kevin is upbeat. “What is there to regret? Dong a service to your country – I love to help people – there’s nothing to regret about it” he said in a recent interview. Kevin a former medic whose nickname is “Doc” also lost a thumb and index finger on his right hand. Kevin will also be presented with a Post membership card. I hope all Post members keep Kevin in their prayers for him to have a speedy recovery.
