IDo you know you can use your G.I. home loan entitlement more than once?  You may use it as many times as you like in your lifetime.  You can use it twice at the same time to buy your year round home and a vacation home.  Your home loan guarantee can represent your down payment on your home prior to your closing on a home.  The V.A. has the right to inspect the home to see that it meets federal standards.  All you need is a copy of your DD214.
