There is a little known benefit the V.A. offers to Honorably Discharged Veterans. It is the non-service connected pension. If you are 65 and served one day in a combat zone you qualify. The benefit is $938.00 of single and $1228.00 if married. From this, subtract your Social Security payment and the difference would be what you are entitled to. You can also subtract any medical bills, prescriptions or otherwise. Walgreens or most any drug store can give you a computerized bill by the month or year.
For WWII and Korean War veterans the V.A. is generally given 10% service connection for hearing loss if you used the M-1 rifle.
You can call me Tuesday through Friday at 422-6418 or I will be at the Post on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

AUDIT-COMMITTEE REPORT
The Audit Committee met on August 2nd at 8:30AM. The Committee consisted of myself, Bob Blume, Liz Boshee and Bob Dymerski. We counted and reconciled all the money in the register and any and all back up monies behind the bar. We also counted and resolved all the monies in the various machines. We were able to compute and resolve all profits. We also determined the profit on the cigarette machine. All the cash and checks in the safe were accounted for and balanced to our deposits in the bank.
It was resolved:
1. No-one could sign his own check.
2. Bank deposits made twice a week.
It was also resolved as to who were to have keys to the Post.
