Legionnaires:

Unfortunately I was out of town attending my son’s wedding so I didn’t make our Labor Day Bar-B-Que.  From what I heard, it was a huge success.  Chef Mike and his crew did a great job with a big “Atta Boy”  going to S.A.L. member “Duke” Peterson.  I would also like to thank our Finance Officer Bob Markin for donating two large pans of baked macaroni to this event.

Don’t forget that our Service Officer and V.A. Rep. Ed McKeon will be at the Post Lounge on the 3rd Saturday of each month to assist you with any related questions or problems.  Ed is very knowledgeable and has helped several members recently.

For some reason National Headquarters doesn’t send out dues notices to S.A.L. members as often as Legion members.  For that reason our S.A.L. paid membership is way down.  I’m asking all S.A.L. member’s to mail their 2009 dues of $35.00 to the Post, so we can get out of the Southern Area Basement and move to the Penthouse.

Donations – So far this month, Post 271 donated $50.00 to Moose Lodge 2010 for a hole sign sponsorship for their 1st Annual Golf Tournament.
