Legionnaires,

     It's hard to believe the holiday season is already here.  I welcome back all our friends from up north; I hope you had an enjoyable summer.

     Election day is Nov. 4th, and I urge all Legionnaires, SAL, Ladies Auxiliary members to get out and vote.  As you know from the close election 4 years ago, every vote helps.  Let us not forget one of our own, Post Judge Advocate Tom Rooney is running for congress and would appreciate your support.

     Our Veterans Day ceremony will be at the post hall on Nov. 11th.  A lunch buffet will follow.

     On Nov. 15th, VA Hospital personal will be here at the post lounge to give out FREE flu shots to all legion members and their families between 9am and 11am.

     On Nov. 23rd, the blood mobile will be at the post between 9am and 12PM.  All donors will receive a free breakfast.

     Thanksgiving Dinner will be served on Nov. 27th from 2PM and 4PM.  All legion members and their families are welcome to attend.  There will be a sigh up sheet in the post lounge for those who would like to donate to make this dinner a success.  Any one who can volunteer to help for an hour or two contact Chef Mike or me.

     At the post the following sat. we will have our "thanks again dinner".  Whatever is left over from Thanksgiving is put out again free of charge.  This is usually well attended.

     The following donations were made since our last newsletter.  Country "T'S" $259.50 for shirts to the head start children's program.  $300.00 to the VA hospital for the coffee and snack program.

     Chef mike has asked me to remind you that if you are going to attend a Sat. Dinner, please call in advance so he can order food and supplies accordingly.
