Legionnaires,

      I hope everyone had a Happy Holiday season and wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.  Although we are starting a new year, the Legion year “7/08 – 6/09 is half over.  The second half of the Legion year contains many of our Legion programs, such as Boy’s and Girl’s State, School Medal Awards, Police Awards Dinner, Memorial Day and Post Election of Officers.  I urge our members to attend our monthly meetings and get more involved with our Legion programs.

 

     Our Color Guard did us proud at the Christmas Parade this year.  As we marched along the parade route we received many compliments from the crowd and a standing ovation as we passed the reviewing stand.  A tip-of-the-hat to Gunney Sgt’s Dom DeFilippi and Norm Fickett for a job well done.  We could use some additional members in the color guard, uniforms are provided free of charge.  If interested, contact myself, Dom or Norm at the club.

 

     For security reasons, a card lock will be installed on the Lounge door.  All members must show their paid up 2009 dues card to the bartenders to obtain their key card.

 

     Dues are coming in very slow.  We still have 20% of our members who have not paid.  Please check your card.  If it doesn’t say 2009 on the card, then you are past due.
