The American Legion Dept. of Florida Convention was held on June 25th thru June 28th of this year. My self, several Officers, SAL members and Ladies Auxiliary members of the Post attended it. While at the convention I received the new 2010 membership cards for the Legion and the S.A.L.. Everyone would have received their 1st notice by now, so send in your dues and become eligible for the early bird drawing on October 8th. We will pick 10 winners whose dues will be paid by the Post for 2011.
I was a little disappointed at the poor turnout for our 4th of July Bar-B-Que put on by our Post Sea Cadets. The Sea Cadets and their parents did a great job in preparing and serving the food. I want to thank Chef Mike and S.A.L. member “Duke” Peterson for always helping out and volunteering their time.
Our annual Labor Day Bar-B-Que will be on Sept 7th from noon till 5 p.m. The price will be $8.00, all-u-can-eat.
For the month of August and September there will be drink specials on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays in the lounge. Check the calendar inside the newsletter for the daily specials.
